As soon as you find out a friend or family member has been arrested and a bond amount is set by the court, he is eligible to post bail. The defendant has the option to pay the court the entire bail amount or find a bail bondsman nearby who will post a bond for a fraction of the court’s set bail amount.
A bail bond (aka: surety bond) is a three-party contractual agreement that legally binds a principal (bondsman), an oblige (arrestee) and a surety company (that offers bonds) together. The bail bond allows for a pretrial inmate to be released for a portion of the full set bail amount by the courts.
A Florida bondsman typically charges ten percent of the full bail amount for state bonds. An example would be when bail is set by a judge for $5,000, the bondsman would charge $500 for a state crime. Any money paid to the bail bondsman is non-refundable.
Anyone of legal age (over 18) with a valid state ID or passport has the ability to apply for a bond and act as an indemnitor for the defendant’s release. That person is expected to cooperation with the bail bond agency to ensure the defendant shows up for all required court appearances and follows all court-ordered requirements for his pretrial release.

A fire swept through Arcadia in 1905 requiring most of the town be rebuilt. A majority of the old buildings still standing today were built between 1906 and 1907. The Arcadia Train Station was opened by the Atlantic Coast Line in 1911. However, passenger services ended in the 1970s, but the building was transformed into commercial real estate spaces. A local history museum was also put in place within the property. And in 1984 many of the homes in Arcadia were included on the National Register of Historic Places.
