Flagler County is located just north of Daytona Beach and was named after Henry Flagler, the savvy business mogul who developed the Florida East Coast Railway. The railroad was a largely responsible for the vast development within the state. Flagler County is part of the Deltona-Daytona Beach-Ormond Beach metro area. Flagler Beach is a premium spot for those who enjoy boating, fishing, waterfront dining, souvenir shops and walks on the beach.
Historically, in the early twentieth century, Flagler county was considered ‘the wild west of the south’. There was a lot of hostility and opposition in the area. Much of the community was out-of-control in a time when prohibition was in place. Immigrants, blacks and newcomers from other parts of the country were not well received and often assaulted or killed by locals. The Klu Klux Klan was ramped in the northeast Florida area making survival difficult for those who were not accepted.
A great deal of people come to Florida to enjoy saltwater and freshwater fishing. Others prefer spending the day out on the boat cruising. But it’s important for everyone participating in any of these activities to become familiar with the fishing and boating laws within the state. Those who fail to do so may find themselves with hefty fines or possible arrests.
It’s not uncommon for many who are ticketed to not take a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission violation seriously. Therefore, they do not pay the fine and miss their court dates. This will usually result in an arrest warrant for a failure to appear. But too often, the defendants do not find out about a warrant until they run into law enforcement for some other matter.
You can find out if someone was arrested within the county by visiting the Flagler County Sheriff Inmate Search tool. The information will be available after the defendant has been fingerprinted and mugshots are taken. A bond amount will be listed towards the bottom of the inmate’s data. Please note that the bond amount may be revised by the court and will take some time for the new bond amount to update.
